This is the most important and difficult question you have to face before preparing your resume.

The easiest answer is to just progress with your existing career track. But just ask yourself these questions before you proceed.

Why are you seeking this change now? What are those things that you have liked and disliked in your career. In what areas have you been able to excel? What have you enjoyed doing? What do you really want from your career?

When you have found these answers, try to do an extensive research on industries, organizations and roles that could employ your skill set to produce a win-win situation.

This would be fun and the discovery of new avenues might be a joy as well.
